Independence Day
Christ Academy joined
the nation in paying homage to the great martyrs of India by
celebrating the 63rd Independence Day with lot of zeal. On 15th Aug,
the students assembled at the school quadrangle for house-wise
march-past. The chief guest of the day was Wing Commander Satish
Chandra who received the salute from the house leaders.
Students of
V & VI std. put up skits to cherish the memories of the sacrifices of
the great heroes like Mangal Pandey, Rani Lakshmibai, Tantiya Tope,
Nana Saheb and of course Mahatama Gandhi. The melodious sung by the
students of VII & VIII std. filled up the air around the school campus
with a feeling of patriotism.
On that very
day the school launched two computer-aided Interactive Boards to make
learning interesting and effective. Chief Guest Wing commander Satish
Chandra inaugurated the boards.

Teacher's Day
This special day for the
teachers was celebrated in the institution with a difference. The
students of III and IV std. celebrated Teachers Day with a colourful
programme depicting white and green revolution in India and a Robotic
Dance to commemorate the launch of Chandrayan I. To entertain their
beloved teachers, the students of Std. IX arranged some games for
them. It was a day for all the Christ Academy teaching staff to
cherish.

Art Day - 2009
Art day was celebrated
in the school campus on 11th Sep, 2009. Students were seen busy
leaning on papers for pencil sketching and colouring their creations
on cloth pieces for fabric painting, carving out vegetables of their
choice; giving life to lifeless tree branches; preparing collage or
working models of hydel powerplant or self-sufficient farms. Young
talents buzzed around the school campus with all forms of creativity.

Resourceful Visitors
Christ Academy campus
often gets enlivened by the visits paid by spiritual hearts and other
resourceful people. On 8th Aug, Rev. Fr. Thomas, Vice chancellor
Christ University and Rev Fr. Jose, parish priest Holy Family Church,
Hongasandra, paid a valuable visit to the school. Rev. Fr. Kurien
presided over the prayer service held on Teacher’s Day and blessed all
the teaching staff of Christ Academy. Mr. Pradipto Hore, Dept of Maths,
Sarala Birla Academy spent couple of his valuable hours to conduct a
workshop on Mathematic. Mr. Vivekanand Upadhyay, Dept. of Hindi,
Sarala Birla Academy, was another resourceful person to guide the
students as well as the Hindi faculty of Christ Academy regarding ICSE
board papers and project works in Hindi.

Social Awareness
Here, at Christ
Academy, attempts are made to make the students aware of the
environment and the society. As a part of the Social Awareness
Programme, students of Std. VII, were taken to the Vistas, a
resource-cum-learning centre, run by an NGO for the rehabilitation of
children of the temple workers. Our students had an interactive
session with the less fortunate children there. The plight of these
children touched the tender hearts of our students who vowed to give
their best for the betterment of our society.

Quiz Programme
As a part of the ongoing
literary activity, inter-house quiz competition was held on 16th of
October, 2009. The competition was held in two categories- the Juniors
(Std. V, VI, and VII) and the Seniors (Std. VIII and IX). Several
interesting rounds of quizzing, which included Audio and Video rounds
as well, kept the children on their toes. While the Red House (Tulips)
topped in the junior category, Yellow House (Daffodils) emerged
victorious in the senior category at the end of one and half hours of
extraordinary brainstorming.
