Annual Day
India’s
journey to freedom from the clutches of the British tyranny
started in 1857 with the Sepoy Mutiny. Indian history from then on
is marked with numerous selfless sacrifices, trials and
tribulations of our freedom fighters who staked all to give us the
freedom, we today cherish and enjoy.
Christ Academy on its 5th Annual Day
celebration on 24th January, 2010, sought to pay homage to those
immortal souls, our avataras, through a programme entitled, “A
Tryst With Destiny”. A well-knit compact programme comprising of
songs, dances, skits with mind boggling special effects,
simultaneously presented from two stages, one above the other,
kept the audiences captivated and glued to their seats. Sounds of
enthusiastic claps and tumultuous applauses ranted the air every
time the dancers struck an artistic pose or the students enacted a
page from our glorious past. Connecting the historical events one
after the other into a garland were our team of students who acted
as Yakshagana artists.
Apart
from all the programs mentioned above, the students also presented
an account of the school’s performance in the academic year gone
in the form of an annual report. The Chief Guest for the day, Mr.
Shantanu Das, Principal, Sarla Birla Academy praised Christ
Academy’s endeavour and emphasized the need for such type of
education that creates complete human beings. The Vice-Provincial
of the Devamatha Province, Rev. Fr. Paulson Paliekara gave an
inspirational speech which touched the heart of all the audience.
Rev. Fr. Jose Nandikara, the manager of the school also graced the
occasion by his solemn presence.
It was a night of memorable
performances which will remain etched in the minds of all for a
long time to come. |
